Mike is a wildlife photographer, filmmaker and researcher who focuses on big cats. He studied environmental economics at Dartmouth College and the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the societal and socioeconomic relationship between big cats and the surrounding communities. Mike worked on the award winning film “The Hidden Tiger,” which was released in December 2020. His work has taken him around the world, doing projects on all seven continents, with a notable background working on big cat stories in India, Indonesia, Brazil, Nepal and across the United States. Mike is currently working with Steve and Sharon on a new National Geographic project that features work with lynx and bobcats. The binding force between all of Mike's work is the philosophy that conservation and sustainable development are inextricably linked. In one of his recent pieces he was quoted writing, "We no longer live in a society where economic gain and environmental stewardship can be viewed as opposing forces. Instead, our leaders must realize longterm sustainable growth can only be achieved when operating at the intersection of business and conservation."
